But everything has its end (apart from a sausage, that one has two) and there are dark times ahead for the biggest Slovak. Long gone are the times where it was enough to get wasted and scream “take tanks against Hungarians”. Today it is a problem to explain to a regular policewoman, that Slota’s driver does not need any permits.
The incident with the policewoman in the parliament garage is very interesting because it happened on the 28th of April 2009, so approximately a month before the story hit the media. Almost a month passed before anyone took out the particular file, copied the policewoman’s statement and gave it to the media just in time before the European Parliament elections.
Of course, it all can be just by chance. A lot of things happen by chance in our country. For example, it was just pure chance that only a company, under the influence of Ján Slota, read the notice board announcement of a 3 billion tender offer in the Ministry of Construction, which is headed by Slota’s man. Or just by chance did the tax office in Žilina wake up and try something unheard of – do Ján Slota’s tax control.
If all this is not just chance, then someone mighty is after him. Since there are only very few people mightier than Slota, and with a possible motive, the Prime Minister has to be considered. The Minister of Culture, Marek Maďarič, is intensively promoting an SDKÚ-DS coalition with Smer-SD in 2010, and the existing coalition partners are thus only standing in the way. Luckily, first one’s electoral base has died off and the second one has to be destroyed. As one can see from the results of the European elections, where the SNS only got 5.5%, the plan is working.
